The Mission
The Latin American bishops comment that ‘often sincere people who leave our Church do not do so because of what “non-Catholic” groups believe, but fundamentally for what they live; not for doctrinal but for vivential reasons’ (Aparecida, §225).
A missionary disciple is someone who has had a personal experience of the love, mercy, and presence of God, metanoia. As a result of this experience they choose to say ‘yes’—to humbly surrender to God’s love and God’s will for their life. In relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit they respond passionately to the universal call to Holiness that transforms their lives in accord with the new creation they have become. As a result this, and ongoing transformative encounter, missionary disciples are passionate people who know, serve, live and advance the mission of the Church. They eagerly share the saving Gospel Truth of Jesus Christ.
